Douglas I. Sheer, CEO and chief analyst
A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design (BFA) Sheer founded the DIS business in 1982 and is a 37-year veteran of the industry. He has been a creative – the first to colorize a motion picture and shared an Oscar for motion picture titles (with Dan Perri Productions) for “The Exorcist.” Was advertising director of US-JVC, ad agency account supervisor at Ted Bates on Matsushita corporate, Technics, Panasonic video and CCTV, editor and publisher at magazines including: Video Manager (later AV-Video) Shooting Commercials, the NAB Daily News, World Broadcast News and B/ME. Edited and published books including notably: B/ME’s ENG/EFP/EPP Handbook (1981) and the Photography A-V Program Directory (also 1981). He founded DIS in 1982 and has presided over serving over 1,100 clients and more than 100 syndicated reports. His writing has appeared in dozens of magazines including TVB, TVBEurope, Videography, Digital Studio, the IBC Daily News and Asia-Pacific Broadcasting to name a few. He was recently elected chairman of the New York section of the Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers (www.smpteny.org). Sheer is also chairman of the Artists Talk on Art (www.atoa.ws) panel discussion series which he founded in 1975. His second language is French.
Regina C. Sheer, vice president & general manager
Daughter of Douglas I. Sheer, Regina has worked in the DIS business since the mid-1980s and has participated in the conduct of hundreds of projects and syndicated survey fielding assignments, as a project designer, web questionnaire architect and manager, analyst and the firm’s financial manager. Having attended both the Bay Area Video Coalition in San Francisco and Raritan Valley Community College in New Jersey. Her second language is Spanish.
Margarida Guilarte: web, internet and graphics manager
A graduate of John Jay College in New York (BA), Guilarte, manages the graphics functions for surveys and reports as well as the firm’s finances, web and Internet activities. Fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and French, Margarida is also the Office Administrator of Artists Talk On Art. (ATOA) and President and administrator of Liga Idolos De America, a 20-team soccer league in Flushing Meadow Corona Park. Queens, NY ( LIDA ).
Christopher Di Biase: senior analyst
A graduate of the San Francisco School of Ballet (BA) in dance, Di Biase has led a career in ballet that he augments with his nearly full-time work as a senior analyst at DIS and has worked on many of the major projects in the last few years.
Julianne Dixon, analyst
Originally from San Fransico, CA, Dixon graduated from John Jay college (BA) and is currently involved in many of DIS upcoming and current major projects, She plans to attend graduate School for her MBA in Athens, Greece in the spring. She speaks fluent Italian and Portuguese and continue as a DIS field correspondent.
Alicyn Mindel: senior analyst A graduate of the State University of New York at Binghampton, New York with a degree in English, Mindel has been a senior analyst on many of the firms syndicated and custom projects since 1999 and has been one of the most seasoned report writers. Her second language is Spanish.
William D’Andrea: statistical analyst and forecasting manager Now a final year PhD candidate at Brown University, D’Andrea is a graduate of the State University of New York at Binghampton (BA), the University of Nebraska (MA) and Brown University (MA). Since 2001, he has managed the firm’s statistical analysis, weighting and projecting and forecasting functions. His second language is German.
